Why use a spreadsheet for your engineering work? Considering how easy Mathcad is to use, it's surprising how many engineers and technical professionals still use Excel for their calculations. Excel is a great piece of software, but it's designed for financial applications, not for engineering or scientific work. Mathcad on the other hand uses real maths notation, not difficult to construct and read text formulae; and presents your calculations in an open document, not hidden away in cells, so it's easy to follow, track errors, share your work and re-use it.
