NASA selects UEIPAC to be part of the International Space Station (ISS) NASA has selected the Linux-based UEIPAC Cube to perform an essential role in controlling the COLBERT (Combined Operational Load Bearing External Resistance) treadmill in the new exercise facility being added to the international space station. The astronauts need the treadmill both for exercise and for maintaining bone density in a gravity-free environment. The UEIPAC will monitor the astronaut?Äôs gait and foot impact forces while exercising on the treadmill.
