Excel Corporations pork plant in Beardstown, uses statistical process control software to reduce variations in cuts of meat and keep close to specifications. This ultimately cuts costs and ensures product consistency.
"The software makes it easy to interpret the data. When we spot a trend that's hugging the upper or lower end of our tolerances, we can identify the problem and work with the operator on a solution." Says Steve Alloway, specification superintendent at the Beardstown plant.
