We don’t claim to be master cake makers by any means, but several of the Adept team were ready to don their aprons and grab their spatulas in aid of a good cause.
On Wednesday 8th December, the great Adept charity bake-off took place. Adept foodies created a mouth-watering selection of cup-cakes, muffins and biscuits to tempt the tastebuds and loosen the purse strings. Our resident samosa expert, Sharifa, also cooked up a batch of spicy treats to provide a savoury break from the sugar overload.
There were prizes for the prettiest cake and the tastiest cake, and once the judging was over, the goodies went on sale with all proceeds going to Keech Hospice Care. A raffle also helped to boost the sum raised to £130, which was then doubled by Adept Scientific, giving a grand total of £260 to help Keech Hospice provide vital care and support to sick children and their families.
Paul Bragg, Adept’s Chairman, described his task of judging the cakes for appearance and taste as “as a tough but enjoyable challenge, fortunately my no cake diet starts in the New Year”
UPDATE: We did a little more catering and increased the amount raised to just under £300.
