North Hertfordshire Business Awards

At the Seventh Annual North Hertfordshire 2003 Business Awards presentation on Thursday 20th November 2003, Adept Scientific emerged victorious in the Internet award category – for the second year running!

We've invested heavily in our Web systems since we first launched our Web site in 1995, and we believe we've succeeded in implementing some smart and innovative systems to deliver a comprehensive offering of information, technical knowledge and content, within a creatively excellent, easy to navigate environment. So naturally we're delighted by this recognition from our local business commmunity!

The Award, sponsored by Archant, recognises the enormous changes in technology and communications that the World Wide Web has brought about, and highlights the achievements of those who have accepted the opportunity offered to develop their business through this modern medium. We at Adept have worked hard to make the most of this opportunity.

GMTV presenter Eamonn Holmes took time off from his many television appearances to present the Awards, which are organised by the publishers of our local newspaper, The Comet. Eamonn presented a very handsome plaque to two key members of our Web team, Web Developer Mark Ridley and Web Designer Wayne Ansell. The innovative ideas and creative flair of Mark, Wayne and the rest of our Web team makes us all proud.

The Award also recognises the way that Adept Scientific as a company uses the Internet to work more efficiently, provide our customers with a better service, and drive our business forward. So credit must also be given to our customer service people who process web orders so efficiently and respond so well to customer requests; our database and fulfilment people who make sure we always provide the information that customers who visit our sites want; our product sales and technical people who contribute so much to our technical support KnowledgeBase and discussion lists; our Danish, German and US teams who maintain the content of our international sites; our marketing team who create and provide the information that goes up on the site and out in e-mailings; our IT people who keep the systems and databases behind the sites running smoothly; and our accounts team whose systems keep our WebStore up to date and accurate.

We were also runner-up in the Most Successful Business 30+ Staff category, sponsored by The Comet. Considering that we were competing for this Award against companies far bigger than ours, this was another great achievement and recognises our continued success.
